Hi!

Dad was officially selected to screen at the 38th Filmfest München. While the 2020 edition has been cancelled, Dad is set to screen there in 2021. Dad continues to make its rounds on the festival circuit and will be at the Marché du Film at Cannes in the Canada Pavillion. As a result, Friction Films is now registered on Cinando. My next film is well underway in development with support from key figures as it relates to its realisation.

BIG NEWS

I got an HBO deal!

HBO Europe picked up Dad for distribution on their platform and they will be premiering my film there on October 1st, 2020. This deal has been in the works for the past few months, so it feels good to finally be able to share it with all of you. I have Betina Goldman and One Eyed Films to thank for securing this deal for me. Of course, this is only the beginning - now the real work starts.

Hi!

Dad has officially been selected to screen at the Belgrade International Film Festival, for three dates: March 1st, March 7th and March 8th. As the centre of Serbia's rich film culture, it is a great honour to have my film screen there and I look forward to seeing how audiences respond to it in-person. Get your tickets here.

Hi!

Dad will be playing at the Ventana Sur film market with representation by Helder Dacosta of Helderland Films. Dad will be playing on Tuesday December 3rd at 14:30 at Cinemark Sala 1. There is big news behind the scenes on Dad that I am holding off on making public until the time is right, but I can positively say I am very satisfied with the film's success ahead of my 25th birthday next week. Dad is coming in 2020 and exactly when will be unveiled soon.

Hi!

Summer has just begun and Dad has been sent out to its first string of festivals. It is complete and all that is left is to get the DCP prepared (5:1 surround; 4k) and sent out to the festivals it is accepted in. I have had a few friends along the way help get it into some festivals so we will see where it goes. I am excited to share the poster, as well as the press kit, over on the new Dad section of the website - go and check it out. Dad is coming.

Hi!

Dad has been edited to completion. It is now being sent out for final mixing and packaging. You can see the teaser in the film section and the kinks in the website have been smoothened. And the titling for Dad is live above - the title encompasses both (D)eborah (a)nd (D)eanna and their father with the vine of foliage underlining their flowering as seasons change.

Hi!

I redesigned my website, reupholstering an old design from years back, so that I can more neatly present my work. I will be making posts such as this one to this section to give you updates on professional & personal matters, as well as miscellaneous notes. I am finishing Dad in Manchester, having edited it since March between Toronto & Dalmatia. Currently, I am doing A/B testing & getting feedback to ensure the picture lock is faultless. Only dialogue editing and mixing are left, as well as adding music to a scene in the movie that must be treated with considerable care. When everything is finalized, promotion of the movie will start - I have prepared my website to aptly present my work online in anticipation of Dad's promotional cycle.
